Loving the Dragon

By:  Rosie Newman

Tina Turbin has had an interest and appreciation in all aspects of the Arts since a very young age, excelling in this field and writing her first children's book at the age of 16 years old.

Setting her goals aside at a young age, she landed a job working in the Entertainment Industry as an Agent's Assistant, at the same time continuing school in California. After getting married and having two children, she started her own business in 1986 and opened a studio called Show Biz Kidz, enabling herself and other professionals to help children in the Entertainment Industry. A few years after her third child was born, she moved to Florida and soon after wrote the Show Biz Kidz East Coast Guidebook, which remains available for the many parents requesting advice about this field.

Tina's focus has been raising her three children, and helping them succeed and excel in their personal goals and artistic careers, as well as helping other families, children and young adults. Two of her children are successful professionals in the Music Business, and she has the continuous support of her husband of 28 years, with her own goals and dreams as an artist.

More than 20 years later, and moving forward in accomplishing many of her personal goals, Tina is heavily involved with her roles as a published children's author, writer, researcher and humanitarian.

As an active member of her community in Pinellas County, Florida, she is a tireless advocate for children and families, with intense research and involvement in the areas of children's education and literature and celiac and gluten issues as a way to improve the quality of lives of others, and frequently hosting events such as "Gluten-Free Baking" events sponsored by Pamela's Products; and organizing readings of her delightful children's book Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy at such locales as: Shriners Hospital of Tampa, Blossoms Montessori School for the Deaf, St. Joseph's Hospital and several libraries throughout the area, plus many more to come.

Through her work with children, Tina became fascinated with the area of children's health and nutrition, leading to her extensive research, interviews and developments in this field. Her website, http://www.GlutenFreeHelp.info, is just one of her ways to help improve the quality of lives and health for others.

Tina strongly supports endeavors involving children, family and the roles of a mother and of a woman in society, as these are sincere topics to her.
